Medical Lab Technician Scholarship

Grand River Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in the Dubuque and tri-state area, is currently offering a competitive scholarship opportunity for first- and second-year Medical Lab Technician (MLT) students who have enrolled in Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC)/Hawkeye Community College's (HCC) MLT program for Fall 2022.

As a Medical Lab Technician at Grand River Medical Group, you will be responsible for performing lab testing and will rotate through all departments within the laboratory. Duties will also include drawing blood, verifying specimen labeling and processing specimens.

Scholarship details:

• Tuition assistance of $8,000 per year. ($16,000 total for the program)
• Full-time employment within our Laboratory in Dubuque, IA after program completion and certification.
• Students will complete two semesters of study at NICC and a summer term plus one semester at Hawkeye Community College (HCC) in Waterloo, Iowa before completing a 24-week clinical internship. Click here for more information.

Employment details upon completion of program:

• Full-time employment, typically working 4 days/week.
• No nights, weekends, or holidays!
• Grand River Medical Group's lab is typically open 6:30am - 5:00pm.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Enrolled in the MLT program at NICC. (Students beginning the program or starting their 2nd year of the program in Fall 2022 will be eligible.)
• Ideal candidates would possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and a high level of professionalism. Individuals will be helpful and courteous to all team members while creating a positive work environment.
