 This position is currently eligible for a partial telework arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

As a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer for John Deere World Construction and Forestry located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will….

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to design, verify and validate engine, cooling system, drivetrain/powertrain electrification and HVAC systems to meet legislative and customer requirements
  • Plan and execute detailed CFD analysis for components, sub-systems and machines to develop and demonstrate product designs
  • Provide consistent, concise oral and written reports to guide design outcomes and resolve issues
  • Plan and manage analysis development projects

What Skills You Need

  • Engineering degree with course work in fluids, heat transfer and/or computational methods
  • Experience working and solving engineering problems in a team environment

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in engine, cooling system or HVAC system design and/or verification or the application of simulation tools to solve engineering problems
  • Experience with diesel powered off highway equipment
  • Experience with the application of CFD tools to solve engineering problems
  • Experience with PTC Creo
  • Knowledge of Python programing language and/or shell scripting

    Education

    Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Math/Science discipline with equivalent experience

    The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry.  The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center.  From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
