Job Overview
The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) are committed in their mission to assist the marginalized, oppressed, and poor in society by advocating for those who suffer political and social injustices. As fewer BVM sisters engage in active ministries, the BVM Congregation focuses on local and global collaborations that align with four BVM core values of freedom, education, charity, and justice.
To this end, the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary seek a Director of Life and Mission who is responsible for assessing, planning, and leading a program to help the BVM Congregation advance its mission. The person in this role will continue established outreach activities while seeking input and inspiration from the congregation to plan for, and implement, new initiatives that forward the congregational mission. The Director of Life and Mission works with BVM leadership to set goals, create strategic and operational plans, and implement these new initiatives with the Life and Mission team.
The Director of Life and Mission provides direction to the Life and Mission team; engages a variety of audiences including BVM sisters, associates, employees, friends, and partners; oversees processes and procedures; manages resources; and coordinates with other departments to ensure activities in the Life and Mission program align with overall congregational mission engagement efforts.
