Overview
We are looking for a full-time Director of Development in our Foundations department. Work hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, for 80 hours per pay period, and as needed.
The Development Director for the Finley Health Foundation advances the Mission of the Foundation by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic support from donors and prospects. Reports directly to the Executive Director of the Foundation, and works collaboratively with the Foundation Board of Directors and Foundation staff, as well as internal/external constituents.

Responsibilities
Relationship Management
- Manages a portfolio of 150 (or more) gift prospects through identification, cultivation and solicitation of unrestricted and restricted gifts that may be planned or current.
- Solicits gifts of $5,000 and above, modeling a moves management strategy to build a major gifts program.
- With a working knowledge of planned giving vehicles, plans and executes strategies to market planned gift vehicles, and utilizes Foundation programs and planned giving seminars.
- Conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner to support of the Finley Hospital and the Foundation’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.
Fundraising Monitoring and Reporting
- Achieves specific and measurable targets, which are fundraising goal driven, and effectively manages portfolio within personal contacts, proposals/prospecting and donor stewardship activities to be recorded in Raiser Edge Donor Database.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hosital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or approrpriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education:

· Associate’s degree in communication, marketing or other related field. |
· Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or other related field. · AFP Certification |
Experience:
|
· Prior experience in fund development, which includes demonstrated success in marketing of annual, major and planned gift solicitation, knowledge of planned giving vehicles, database and moves management strategies, and volunteer management.

· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in fund development, which includes demonstrated success in marketing of annual, major and planned gift solicitation, knowledge of planned giving vehicles, database and moves management strategies, and volunteer management.

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
