Plant Manager

Job Overview

Title:   Plant Manager

Supervisor:     President and Vice President

Primary Purpose:

The purpose of the Plant Manager position is to develop and maintain overall plant operations and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The primary duties of the Plant Manager is as follows:

• Communicate operational results/concerns to the President and Vice President in a timely fashion.
• Maintain communications with customers to make certain all of our customer needs are met.
• Review equipment repair/replacement needs.
• Oversight of all safety training programs and accident investigations.
• Coordinate and assist in development of quality control system.
• Estimate new and revised jobs for customers.
• Review of all jobs to make certain they achieve maximum profitability.
• Shop employee recruiting and discharge issues.
• Assign office and shop employee task as required by job requirements.
• Identify Raw Material, Work in Progress and Finished Product at all times. 

 Knowledge and Skills Required:

Requires an understanding of the metal fabrication industry and related equipment (brake presses, shears, punch presses, welding and laser cutting systems).   Must be able to communicate with customers on a daily basis and work closely with department supervisors.  General understanding of quality control systems, safety training issues and human resource issues.

Physical Requirements:

 Requires ability to stand approximately 50% of the day.  Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
