Overview
We are looking for a full-time, Marketing Communication Specialist to join our team! Work hours will be days, Monday - Friday, for 80 hours per pay period.
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for internal and/or external marketing and communication efforts related to promotion of the UnityPoint Health brand and UnityPoint Health — Dubuque services, news, awards and announcements. The Marketing Communications Specialist communicates, collaborates and innovates, acting as an internal consultant to internal UnityPoint Health — Dubuque departments. The role is involved with marketing strategic planning, relationship building and extensive project coordination.

Responsibilities
Marketing Communications Strategic Planning
- Defines comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that support UnityPoint Health' mission, vision and brand promise.
- Provides leadership, consultation and expertise in one or more key functional areas of marketing, public relations and/or communications, such as: media relations; public relations; special events; marketing; internal communications.
Project Coordination
- Provides assistance with developing and executing communication plans, evaluation methods and creative direction.
- Contributes to the successful creation and execution of marketing communications campaigns, community special events, programs and/or seminars.
Relationship Building
- Builds effective relationships with media, community contacts and internal stakeholders.
- Works with departments on plans and activities to achieve business and market goals.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education:
|
Bachelor' degree. |
Degree emphasis in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing. |

Experience:
|
Previous work or internship experience in a related or similar field. |
One to two yearsΓÇÖ experience in related or similar field. |

License(s)/Certification(s):
|
Valid driver' license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. |

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
|
┬╖ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to edit. ┬╖ Demonstrated creative ability with regard to writing, promotions, advertising. ┬╖ Knowledge and ability to adapt to current trends and techniques in marketing communications. ┬╖ Ability to work as a team member, maintain effective working relationships. |
┬╖ Video editing and/or video creation experience. ┬╖ Excellent academic credentials with a track record of professional accomplishments which demonstrate superior performance, leadership and vision. |
