What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, as a Welder you will fabricate refrigeration steel frames by cutting, fixturing, MIG welding and painting utilizing engineered drawings and customer specifications. Located at our Dyersville, IA facility, the welder will receive on-the-job-training, guidance, and direction from qualified personnel to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of welding functions per design documentation on assigned projects to meet structural code.
- Cut structural steel according to blueprints.
- Paint final frame assemblies following Zero Zone Refrigeration approved painting procedures.
- Maintain welding tools, equipment and supplies, as well as being proactive to maintain or supply anticipated needs of stock or special-order materials.
- Assists in optimizing production processes to eliminate waste and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Assist with maintaining a positive work environment, which consistently achieves its goals and reinforces the team approach with employees.
- Interact professionally with all departments, vendors, and customers.
What Are We Looking For?
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you for this position:
- An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- 0-3 years MIG welding related experience preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience to include brazing, MIG welding, as well as refrigeration system component knowledge, is helpful but not required.
- Experience with hand tools, reading documentation (blueprints, weld charts, written instructions/procedures), and measuring tools is required.
- This position requires you to have mechanical aptitude and the ability to visualize finished product, as well as being detailed and quality oriented, dependable and self-motivated. This position would have the opportunity to cross-train and the growth potential that comes along with cross training.
