Description:
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under direct supervision of the Chef Coordinator, the cook functions as part of the Food The Nutrition Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Directors of Food and Nutrition Services of both Mercy Medical Center Dubuque/Dyersville and Clinton, Iowa, along with a dotted reporting structure to the Regional Manager, Clinical Nutrition and Wellness, is responsible for all functions and management pertaining to the nutritional care of the patient, clinical duties of all clinical dietitians and operations of diet offices in the Food and Nutrition Services Departments. This position is responsible for assisting the Food and Nutrition Services Directors and the Regional Manager, Clinical Nutrition and Wellness with clinical leadership, coordination, quality, risk management, productivity and human resource management of all clinical dietitians and diet office functions for Mercy in Dubuque/Dyersville and Clinton. Represents the Nutrition Services Departments in multidisciplinary health care teams and is the primary liaison responsible for maintaining effective communication and cooperation with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve patient care goals. Responsible for managing compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.

What you will do:

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
- Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
What we are looking for:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
- Preferred: Master's Degree or Advanced Certification (CNSC, CDE, CSP, CSG, CSSD, CSR or CSO).
- Required: Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
- Required: Licensed by the State of Iowa.
- Required: Minimum 3-5 years of clinical (hospital practice) professional experience.
- Preferred: 1-2 years management and supervisory experience.
- Preferred: Member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Preferred: Experience in public speaking.
- Preferred: Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Cerner, CBORD, Clairvia & Kronos.
- 1Required: Valid driver's license and ability to meet hospital-driving requirements.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter.
