Your Responsibilities

As the Health Information Management Specialist, your primary responsibility will be designing and maintaining the electronic health records system and related supportive technologies for Hillcrest Family Services. You will work closely with programs and departments across the agency to ensure the electronic health record system is designed to capture, report, and facilitate analysis of health-related data and the successful generation of billing for and payment of services. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Gather and stay current on program/department specific requirements for documentation, billing, and compliance
  • Provide training and technical assistance to personnel on use of EHR system, including new staff
  • Responsible for assigning roles and permissions within the system
  • Manage system modifications and upgrades
  • Oversee ticketing system to troubleshoot end user issues
  • Act as a liaison between software vendor and agency

What You Need

  • Associate's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (Will consider certification and years of experience in lieu of formal education)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working with Health Management Information Systems
  • Detail oriented with good analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of health care service delivery and IT experience in the health care/human services industry
