Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a full-time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. The University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with practice planning, execution and on-court instruction
- Help develop and implement game plans, reports, strategies and on-court duties as assigned
- Assist in all phases of the recruiting process, specifically the scouting and evaluation of skilled and academically qualified student-athletes
- Monitor academic progress and serve as a program liaison for staff and faculty
- Serve as a role model for the student-athletes by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct at all times
- Assist head coach with monitoring ARC policies and procedures applicable to the men’s basketball program
- Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
- Perform other duties in support of the athletic department and the University’s Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Two years coaching experience at the intercollegiate level required
- Follow rules and guidelines of the university, the American Rivers Conference, the NCAA and the Mission of the University of Dubuque
- Ability to effectively lead, supervise, and manage others
- Good communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, and to be an effective team member
- Ability to use a personal computer and other necessary computer programs
- Ability to travel often and work nights and weekends
The University of Dubuque is an NCAA Division III institution.
