Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a full-time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.  The University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with practice planning, execution and on-court instruction
  • Help develop and implement game plans, reports, strategies and on-court duties as assigned
  • Assist in all phases of the recruiting process, specifically the scouting and evaluation of skilled and academically qualified student-athletes
  • Monitor academic progress and serve as a program liaison for staff and faculty
  • Serve as a role model for the student-athletes by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct at all times
  • Assist head coach with monitoring ARC policies and procedures applicable to the men’s basketball program
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
  • Perform other duties in support of the athletic department and the University’s Mission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Two years coaching experience at the intercollegiate level required
  • Follow rules and guidelines of the university, the American Rivers Conference, the NCAA and the Mission of the University of Dubuque
  • Ability to effectively lead, supervise, and manage others
  • Good communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, and to be an effective team member
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other necessary computer programs
  • Ability to travel often and work nights and weekends

The University of Dubuque is an NCAA Division III institution.
