Job Overview
JOB SUMMARY: Under direction of the Recreation Supervisor, will supervise the on-site operation of the Adult Basketball Leagues recreation activities, taking into account the needs and interests of individual members; and perform other duties as assigned.
This is a limited term part-time position October 30, 2023 - April 14, 2023 the hours are Monday - Wednesday - 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
The work location is Eleanor Roosevelt Middle School, 2001 Radford Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002, USA
JOB DUTIES:
- Serve as on-site coordinator/supervisor.
- Fill out score sheets for teams and keep score using school scoreboard and equipment.
- Collect nightly scores and submit to Recreation Supervisor.
- Communicate with Recreation Supervisor regarding staff issues, basketball complaints, and decisions made regarding the program or staff.
- Interact with the public.
- Respond to patron comments, questions, and concerns.
- Administer first-aid to participants, calling for assistance if required.
- Enforce rules or regulations.
- Promote City recreation services and programs.
- Explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Inform Recreation Supervisor of staff issues, basketball complaints, and any decisions made by you regarding the program or staff.
- Display quality customer service skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Service Orientation - Looking for ways to help people.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and background of basketball rules/regulations.
