Job Description
Will be responsible for coordinating numerous merchandising efforts within our stores to ensure consistent shopping appearance and experience is being achieved. This will require occasional travel to all store locations, resets, new builds, training seminars and shows. Overnight travel will be required and long hours will be necessary at times. Travel to stores will usually not exceed 25% on average.
Qualifications
- Education: Marketing or Business related 2 year degree preferred
- Experience: 2 years retail experience with management background preferred but not required

- Brand Leadership. Demonstrate effective communication through consistent communication and evaluations of our Theisen’s BRAND standards. The individual will work with the Training Manager and Store Planning Team to build tools for the brand in regards to Visual Merchandising- this would include but not be limited to: training videos, policies and procedures as well as assisting with training seminars in regards to visual merchandising.
- Store Appearance & Experience. Individual will work/drive for the brand consistency throughout all of our store locations. The individual can expect to walk the store with the store team and review the visual merchandising expectations; this will include the Monthly Playbook, end caps, Softlines Merchandising Guide, the Outdoor Merchandising Guide, POG compliance, signage execution and more.
- Seasonal & Brand Merchandising. Individual will collaborate with other members of Store Planning, Purchasing and Operations on the strategic seasonal block plans. The individual will coordinate the seasonal information to the entire team including marketing to ensure a consistent and efficient seasonal set. Once that is ready the individual will then communicate the direction to the stores and corporate staff.
- The individual will also coordinate the merchandising directives to the stores as the seasonal area transitions due to sales and weather changes. This will include but not be limited to the Lawn & Garden season as well as the Christmas season.
- The individual will also assist buyers in planning small seasonal shops and/or product brand shops. They will assist with placement, shop size and recommend signage/POP that will assist in creating a statement. This will include but not be limited to: chick days, holiday candy and décor, deer stand/hunting displays, DeWalt shops, Carhartt shops etc.
- Brand Recovery. Individual will give direction for stores that need extensive Brand assistance. This will often require calls and emails for follow up to ensure improvement is being made. This may also include attending store meetings to communicate the Brand expectations. The individual can expect to present the brand to small and large crowds effectively.
- New Store Builds/Resets. Individual with assist and coordinate many factors related to the new store build and/or resets in regards to the layout, merchandising, signage and fixtures. This will include: planning, budgeting and execution to ensure a timely and efficient opening. The individual will be expected to work with the store operations team as well as the store team to assist the build/reset being on time and progressing as needed. The individual will be expected to learn all aspects of fixturing. This will include but not be limited to Lozier shelving, clothing fixtures, peg hooks, sign holders etc.
- POG Execution. Individual will help coordinate POG execution in stores. Individual will work with the Merchandising Planner to rollout the POG’s. Individual will recommend new merchandise trends and categories that they become aware of that will affect any POGs. This should be communicated with the Store Planning Manager and the purchasing team with sources to reference.
- The individual will be expected to continually look for and recommend methods to stream line our processes and strengthen our Brand.

- High degree of knowledge in regards to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Must learn to be highly sufficient with the AS400 program and Blue Beam (Layout software).
- Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD blueprints and planogram schematics.
- High level of communication skills in oral, written and diagram form.
- Ability to construct clear directions that are easy to understand and execute.
- High level of organizational skills.
- Must be able to multi task and prioritize.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong comprehension of retail financial metrics and the end-to-end merchandising process.
