Job Overview

Teach the next generation the importance of safety around water and help them improve their swimming abilities. Our swimming instructors will teach swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly, and support members and program participants in achieving their goals. All Y employees receive complimentary membership!

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • At least 16 years of age.

  • Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
  • Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child
