The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student-HR Coordinator for John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA you will…

  • Perform a variety of tactical tasks to support Human Resources, such as maintaining employee records, tracking and extracting data, scheduling and other such activities
  • Perform one or more of the following duties: assisting new employee orientation or other basic training, coordinating employee relations events
  • Utilize Human Resource tools such as SAP and Business Objects to view and extract data used to respond to requests for information
  • Support deployment of HR programs, organizational changes, policies, and initiatives in support of the business strategy

This position is NOT available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local (Dubuque area) accredited university
  • Graduation date of 2025 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work during the academic year
  • Available to work during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Dubuque, Iowa, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of people

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry.  The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center.  From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
