Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer - Weld for John Deere Dubuque Works you will ensure high quality build, continuous process improvement and collaborate to provide world class customer services.
Located in Dubuque, Iowa (Ranked in top 100 best places to live in the U.S. in a report done by Livability), this John Deere business unit creates the environment for perfecting process design review, fabrication quality investigation and order fulfillment process production support.
Specifically, your responsibilities include:
- Leading business unit quality goals focused on build in quality and continuous improvement.
- Executing quality management activities such as fabrication quality improvement team, process design reviews, and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Leading quality activities including order fulfillment process (OFP) production support, control plan execution and assistance to customer support.
- Providing work direction to quality special investigators in fabrication.

What Skills You Need
- Experience implementing improvements in design, quality, efficiency, and/or productivity.
- Experience using corrective action tools such as root cause analysis (RCA) and mistake proofing techniques.
- 1 or more years of experience using engineering tools and processes.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and summarizing complex data to make sound decisions.
- Experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Effective communication with ability to engage others.
- Proven ability to successfully learn and adopt new technologies, systems, processes, and tools.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience working with KOTEM smart profile GD&T Evaluation Software.
- General proficiency using computer-aided design tools such as AutoCAD.
- 2 or more years’ experience supporting engineering projects in a factory, warehouse, and/or industrial environment.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- 2 or more years’ experience with advanced Excel functions
- Excellent communicator with experience in supporting factory and/or supplier relationships to solve business problems.
- Experience in welding processes and industrial robotics.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Analytics, Industrial Technology, or a similar technical discipline.
