Job Overview
The Aviation Department at the University of Dubuque is seeking a Flight Operations Coordinator. This is a 12-month staff contract. The University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package, including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all ground, dispatch, maintenance, and flight operations-related activities at the airport facilities
- Manage operations budget activities, coordinate and manage equipment/facilities maintenance, and vendor contracts
- Assist with the FAA Flight School compliance oversight
- Support the Chief Flight Instructor with standardization and other training or professional development requirements
- Ensure Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance for all Aviation Operations
- Develop and maintain operations infrastructure, equipment, and materials
- Engage in life-long learning and other educational opportunities to continuously enhance the aviation program
- Perform other duties in support of the aviation department and the University’s Mission
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aerospace, engineering, management, or other related fields required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-years aviation operations management experience within a collegiate flight program, flight school, military aviation, airport operations, airline operations, or related field.
- Current FAA A&P, Pilot, Flight Instructor, or other aviation operations certificate preferred
- Effective communication skills; both orally and writing
- Exceptional skills using Microsoft Office
- Ability to pass an FAA/DOT drug test
- Valid US driver’s license
