Job Overview

The Aviation Department at the University of Dubuque is seeking a Flight Operations Coordinator.  This is a 12-month staff contract. The University of Dubuque offers an excellent benefits package, including tuition remission, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a retirement match.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all ground, dispatch, maintenance, and flight operations-related activities at the airport facilities
  • Manage operations budget activities, coordinate and manage equipment/facilities maintenance, and vendor contracts
  • Assist with the FAA Flight School compliance oversight
  • Support the Chief Flight Instructor with standardization and other training or professional development requirements
  • Ensure Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance for all Aviation Operations
  • Develop and maintain operations infrastructure, equipment, and materials
  • Engage in life-long learning and other educational opportunities to continuously enhance the aviation program
  • Perform other duties in support of the aviation department and the University’s Mission

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aerospace, engineering, management, or other related fields required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-years aviation operations management experience within a collegiate flight program, flight school, military aviation, airport operations, airline operations, or related field.
  • Current FAA A&P, Pilot, Flight Instructor, or other aviation operations certificate preferred
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and writing
  • Exceptional skills using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to pass an FAA/DOT drug test
  • Valid US driver’s license
