TITLE: Massage Therapist — As Needed
DEPARTMENT: Therapeutic Services
POSITION STATUS/HOURS: PRN — As needed position
Anticipated shifts are (Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. — 4:30 p.m.)
and (Friday, 2:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.).
Every 4th Saturday of the month is 9:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.
The Saturday shift will replace the Friday shift for that week.
Non-benefit eligible position.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Massage Therapist uses manual actions to palpate and manipulate the soft tissue of the human body, in order to improve circulation, reduce tension, relieve soft tissue pain, or increase flexibility. He or she must possess a thorough knowledge of the body and excellent communication skills.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties would include, but not be limited to the following:
ΓÇó Answers the phone, email, and walk-ins in a professional manner, directs as appropriate.
ΓÇó Reviews patient's medical history, allergies, current medications, patient questionnaire
ΓÇó Ensures patient forms and billing information is completed in an expedient manner
ΓÇó Explains procedures to patient before, during and after treatments
ΓÇó Knowledgeable of equipment, its function and purpose; Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
ΓÇó Ensures all safety, infection, quality and environmental procedures and rules are in place and used.
ΓÇó Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient's safety and reduces the likelihood of errors
ΓÇó Treats patients and families with respect and dignity
ΓÇó Provision of care to clients who present for therapeutic services, along with completion of all necessary documentation and paperwork, in a professional and timely manner.
ΓÇó Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages including pediatric through geriatric
ΓÇó Massages and kneads muscles and soft tissues of the body to provide treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
ΓÇó Follows specific protocols to provide consistent massage treatments
ΓÇó Prepares and blends oils and apply the blends to clients' skin.
ΓÇó Develops and proposes client treatment plans that specify which types of massages are to be used.
ΓÇó Demonstrates the ability to order supplies, complete and authorize requisitions.
ΓÇó Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and remains in good standing in professional organizations applicable to technical background
ΓÇó Demonstrates teaching skills
ΓÇó Ability to maintain appropriate record keeping
ΓÇó Displays strong interpersonal skills, and maintains accountability for actions and decisions
ΓÇó Ability to work as a team partner in a constant changing environment
ΓÇó Knowledge of the best practices and industry trends
ΓÇó Documentation meets current standards and policies
ΓÇó Stays current in field through continuing education, seminars, professional journals and societies
ΓÇó Willingness to attend educational workshops for professional growth
ΓÇó Communicates clearly and concisely with the Outpatient Manager, Rehab Manager and Vice President of Professional Services
ΓÇó Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
ΓÇó Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized.
ΓÇó Leadership abilities
ΓÇó Strong decision-making skills
ΓÇó Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
ΓÇó Massage Therapist License required.
ΓÇó Knowledge of skin care procedures and products.
ΓÇó Proficiency in EPIC system with payment collection, scheduling and documentation is a plus.
ΓÇó Must possess a thorough knowledge of the body and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
ΓÇó Ability to work independently, multitask, and to be flexible with schedule.
