Job Overview
The Personal Services Assistant assumes the role of a family member and ensures that the practical, personal, and when necessary, emotional needs of the retired BVM residents of Mount Carmel Bluffs are recognized and met. The Personal Services Assistant will check in regularly with the BVM residents, provide support such as assisting with household tasks, shopping, serving as companion, and social support. Personal Services Assistants will play a pivotal role in acclimating Sister to her new surroundings and supporting the department’s mission in engaging Sister in the greater congregational community. Personal Services Assistants will be asked to companion Sisters to scheduled appointments and, as-needed, visits to ER and Acute Care. Position requires excellent relational and organizational skills, flexibility, and compassion towards those he/she supports. The day-to-day routine of the Personal Services Assistant is unpredictable. The ideal candidate will welcome the variety of tasks, interactions, and responsibilities each workday brings.
