We are hiring a Business Development Manager to join our Higher Ed Sales team based out of Dubuque, Iowa. This leadership role is key to maximizing sales and growth targets in the portfolio. You will be leading a team of Business Development Representatives towards a common goal based on team and individual measurables and strategic focus areas.
How can you make an impact?
The Business Development Manager will drive market share gains and increased revenue in selected key growth disciplines. In this role, you will also execute strategies for winning new business and monetizing business won through implementation efforts in the key growth markets.
Reporting to the District Sales Manager in our National Sales division, you will be working out of our office in Dubuque, Iowa. There will be travel out of state 2-3 times per year for national and regional sales meetings.
What you will be doing:
- Identify high potential, high volume opportunities that will contribute to market share and sales revenue growth.
- Participate in or lead key customer meetings and help drive sales to the close. Assist with author/editor correspondence, market research, and planning focus groups and meetings as needed.
- Partner with district leadership team and product teams to develop and execute customer centric strategies to increase sales, digital activations, and customer retention.
- Provide leadership and coaching at the district level.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each key discipline to include core MHHE strategies/products, competition, market dynamics and customer behavior and use information to inform product teams which will allow MHHE to better position their products.
- Build and execute implementation plans in these key markets based on customers’ needs and objectives.
- Coordinate resource utilization to build customer relationships, drive sell through and retain existing business.
- Develop and maintain a list of the top accounts, by identified disciplines, and drive the strategy for winning business at these accounts.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelors Degree and 4-8 years of sales leadership experience.
- Demonstrated track record of sales success including the ability to drive sales process from plan to close.
- Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate distinct aspects of our products and position them against competitors.
- Strong technical aptitude and/or related technical experience.
- The ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
- Strategic ability to see ahead clearly and anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
