POSITION PURPOSE:
Serves as Medical Staff Services Coordinator providing administrative support for all activities of the Medical Staff Office. Reports to the President and CEO. Works closely with the President of the Medical Staff, Chief Medical Officer and other members of the Medical Staff Executive Committee as well as hospital administration and other department directors/managers.

What you will do:
- Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
- Skill and proficiency in applying principles, concepts and techniques which are central to working with the medical staff.
- Demonstrated understanding of the medical staff organization responsibilities and its related bylaws, rules/regulations that govern the organization.
- Ability to address issues that arise demanding immediate attention and/or continued surveillance with effective results. Must have the flexibility and organizational skill to balance these interruptions with routine schedule of ongoing responsibilities. Must be able to work under pressure with frequent deadlines.
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Independent problem solving and decision making within the framework of established policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with the medical staff leadership; providing consultative assistance and other delegated support as necessary for them to fulfill their obligations.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate activities of the medical staff such as meeting agenda planning, department support, recognition and associated communication and technology.
- Participates in MercyOne and Trinity Health medical staff programming and facilitates implementation of system initiatives as appropriate.
- Partners with the medical staff specialist in completion of essential functions supporting all medical staff services.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors degree in an appropriate field, clinical degree and experience strongly preferred.
- Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) certification required within two years.
- Three years of experience working with administrators and physicians.
