POSITION PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Marketing Specialist to help implement marketing initiatives for the organization.
This position requires project management discipline, teamwork, initiative, and commitment for any MercyOne service line or location within the organization. The candidate will work independently, should be flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing situations. The candidate should also demonstrate an ability to think creatively and proactively in order to identify and propose new solutions and ideas. This position requires excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the essential functions below, which will positively impact MarComm and its organizational goals.

What you will do:
- Serve as a service line point of contact for secondary service lines with oversight of tasks within the overall project.
- Use templates and/or guide clients to template to ensure brand integrity for simple requests.
- Assist market managers/mentors with other service line-related marketing and local requests (identified service lines, local requests, etc. may vary); be flexible and customer service oriented as we change the way the department operates.
- Coordinate various marketing activities and collaborate if/when other MarComm colleagues need assistance (i.e., assist with social media posts, etc.)
- Track expenditures, request quotes, and coordinate all activities related to the service line projects. Enlist the help of other experts on the team as needed.
- Work within a project management software to initiate and track projects to completion and to enhance communication among the team.
- Measure and improve the effectiveness of messaging, channels, and practices.
- Engage in data dashboard that provides insights; learn to use those insights to guide decisions around service line marketing.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer service, including responsiveness and follow-through.
- Partner with colleagues and providers to identify new opportunities and develop innovative activations and promote messages through all channels.

- Collaborate in the preparation of marketing impact reports in a way that supports growth.
- Collaborate on the monitoring and measuring data to improve the effectiveness of messaging, channels, and practices.
- Constantly review insights to maintain current knowledge about competitor’s position, performance, and capabilities. Monitor the environment and initiate action plans as necessary to respond to market opportunities.
- Coordinate with Communications and Public Relations.
- Support communications team.
- Include/develop holistic marketing that includes proactive public relations efforts. Support the team in terms of crisis as it relates to internal/external communications as needed.
- Provide insight into the communications strategy that connects colleagues with MercyOne and each other.
- Partner to identify internal client needs including awards submissions, ads, posters, signage, screensavers, etc., and partner with statewide resources on creation.
- Partner to gather insights to support patient/consumer experience and surface local or system-wide opportunities to improve consumer experience. Leverage system resources to create assets to achieve objectives. Ex: identify teams with low consumer experience scores and connect with resources for scripting or asset development.
- Support communications team and social media manager to advance internal/external objectives related to the use of social media, monitoring activities, and providing reports or insight that help with decision-making.

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

- A good creative eye: effective evaluation and execution of marketing messages and visual design as outlined in our brand standards, style guide and overall brand platform/voice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, highly collaborative with a service-minded orientation.
- Flexible, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Proven hands-on experience in marketing or communications. Experience with innovative channels is a plus.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills, including rewriting, optimizing, and editing content from subject matter experts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.)
- Experience with Agile Marketing and project management tools a plus
- Experience using HTML and CMS management; Drupal a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics
- Familiarity with CRM systems and email marketing programs (e.g., Salesforce) or willingness to learn.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred plus 1-3 years of hands-on marketing and communications experience.
