Job Overview
Description
- Facilitate communication within and outside of the Center on routine and strategic matters via appropriate methods including daily huddles, committee meetings, board meetings, etc.
- Manage directly and through others, the selection, training, development, performance evaluation, performance management and payroll for the TSSC Staff. Direct or through others, ensure well-coordinated daily staffing schedules and surgery schedules to deliver high quality patient services.
- Direct the organization and coordination of the delivery of care within TSSC through implementing and following efficient clinical processes and protocols.
- Partner with Director of Ancillary Services and MA functional leaders/partners to ensure accurate and compliant coding and to conduct cost analyses, market reviews, and maintain TSSC fee schedule.
- Maintain quality improvement program for compliance with regulations and quality reporting while also ensuring optimal reimbursement.
- Partner with Director of Ancillary Services and MA functional leaders/partners to ensure favorable contract terms are negotiated and are in place with outside suppliers.
- Prepare, justify, and monitor clinical budget (staffing, equipment, supplies). Responsible for the development of cost-effective methods of care delivery including coordination of physician, anesthesia and support services quality improvement activities focused on enhanced customer service and improved center operations.
- Lead the development of new clinical services for the Center as directed by the strategic plan or by TSSC Board in partnership with Director of Ancillary Services.
- Lead successful AAAHC re-accreditation with Medicare every three years.
- Partner with Director of Ancillary Services and MA functional leaders/partners to ensure adequate knowledgeable of all state and federal laws for ambulatory surgery centers. Interpret and implement measures and processes to comply with state, federal and accreditation regulations, policies and procedures, which may include but is not limited to: completing incident reports, evaluating safety and appropriateness of equipment.
- Remain updated on ASC-related healthcare regulatory changes and legislative issues and act in the best interest of the Center. Direct policy development and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with changing regulations.
- Partner with Director of Ancillary Services and MA functional leaders/partners to manage ongoing risk management activities, including compliance, incident reporting, staff education, and more. Identify and control risk issues, respond to patient complaints directly or delegate as necessary.

- Experience: Five to ten years of similar or related experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates with surgery center experience or/or OR leadership experience.
- Education: Equivalent to a four‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school. Advanced degree appreciated.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of trust and diplomacy. Obtaining cooperation (internally and externally) is an important part of the job.
- Other Skills: Active RN or ARNP Licensure, ACLS & PALS Certification.
Physical Aspects:
Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.
Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Environmental Conditions:
