Senior Financial Analyst

Summary:

Provide financial analysis support that is required throughout A.Y. McDonald Industries. Analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Lead accounting related projects. Drive company performance by identifying areas of opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and/or support forward-looking financial and business-related projects by providing analytical support to project teams and management.
• Combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management reporting and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including variance reports. Provide follow-up and documentation of significant variances. Prepare journal entries and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts. Collaborate within the company to improve performance to drive results.
• Adhere to compliance requirements for applicable regulations, internal controls, and corporate policies and procedures; Coordinate, resolve, and ensure financial compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Support tactical and strategic development initiatives for management reporting, data warehousing and profitability reporting.
• Lead department and organization special projects as assigned.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and shift priorities to meet day-to-day operational needs and mandated deadlines.
• Provide excellent customer service by developing internal and external relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and three to five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including V-lookups and pivot tables. CPA license preferred.
