The IBMi (AS/400) System Operator is responsible for supporting the IBMi users and for the implementation and maintenance of EDI interchanges with customers and VANS.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating and managing system user profiles, assigning and revoking user profile rights/authorities and resetting user profile statuses.
- Maintain and update EDI procedures
- Create and maintain specific trading partner documentation
- Managing system database tables, monitoring and handle record locks and perform regular system table maintenance.
- Working with Trimble/Innovative TMS software to manage, order, load statuses of driver. Adjusting the TMS data as required by customers and end-users.
- Maintaining the AS/400 operating system by installing updates as PTO packages from IBM. Notifying IBM support when monitoring hardware events and replication software.
- Create new EDI customers mappings by coordinating and implementing resources between multiple departments and entities including Customer Service, Billing, 3PL, TM's or Van's and Trading Partner for setup of communications, translator, mapping and ERP modules or resources
- Identifies methods, and solutions, in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.
- Participates in Helpdesk duties, working to resolve problems reported to the IT department, in the most timely and efficient manner.
