- Safety Training & Practices: Conduct employee orientations to familiarize new hires with safety protocols and procedures. Monitor employee safety practices daily.
- Investigations & Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address them promptly. Investigate near-miss, first aid, injury, and property damage incidents thoroughly to determine root cause and assist in implementing corrective measures.
- Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with leadership and relevant departments to implement safety measures and address safety concerns. Conduct monthly safety committee meetings. Coordinate powered industrial truck maintenance with outside vendors.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for reporting and analysis purposes. Complete and distribute reports. Follow post-incident protocols.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Maintain adequate supply and conduct inspections of PPE. Ensure compliance with all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and site-specific safety and PPE requirements.
- Discipline Administration: Support Be Safe reminders and 3-Strike Safety Policy.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive safety information, including employee records, investigations, and discussions. Always uphold ethical standards and safeguard employee privacy.
- Shift Support: Provide support to employees across multiple shifts, addressing their safety-related needs and concerns in a timely and effective manner. Adapt communication and support strategies to accommodate varying shift schedules.
- Occasional Travel: Travel occasionally as required for training, meetings, or other safety-related activities.

- Additional Duties: Perform tasks as assigned to support dynamic changes in business conditions.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the Safety Coordinator must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong relations with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
- Proficient computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and safety software.
- Associate degree in occupational safety and health, environmental safety, safety management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Additional safety certifications and training highly desired (e.g., Certified Safety Professional. OSHA 10-hour, OSHA 30-hour, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), CPR, Power Industrial Truck, Train-the-Trainer).
