How can you make an impact?

McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational materials is looking for a Bids & Contracts Specialist for our K-12 division. We are in search of a detail-oriented and process-driven person to join our team. Reporting to the Lead Bids & Contract Specialist, this role is responsible for assembling and submitting local and state requests for bids and contracts for our K-12 products and services. Bids and Contracts Specialists are critical members of our Sales Support team and must be able to work closely with our Direct Sales organization.

 

This position is remote and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Receiving, organizing, and submitting multiple requests for responses to state and local bids and contracts, data privacy agreements, and terms and conditions
  • Reviewing detailed bid requirements and deliverables and analyzing in-depth legal documents
  • Driving the completion of assigned bid submissions and agreements, working with other departments like sales, legal, privacy, and marketing as needed
  • Moderating in-take communications and stakeholder meetings for assigned areas.
  • Communicating with our internal and external customers and acting as a liaison between McGraw Hill and customers relating to bids and contract language negotiations
  • Maintaining and monitoring a project schedule to ensure all projects stay on task and track

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of professional experience- legal or educational administration background preferred
  • Experience in contracts or bids with a competitive team-oriented spirit
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills required
  • Experience and understanding of industry and how educational products are sold and delivered is a plus
  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientations and a desire to win
  • Must have excellent communication skills, writing in particular. Must have a strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, and business communication, taking a sales-oriented approach when appropriate
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and Adobe Acrobat. SharePoint, Smartsheet or other multi-user/project management programs are helpful.

The pay range for this position is between $49,500-$70,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
