Job Overview
Why Crescent Community Health Center? Crescent is a mission driven and patient centered organization. We provide medical, dental and brain health services to the Greater Dubuque area including our most vulnerable populations. We work hard to bring high quality affordable health care to all in our community. We believe we provide a diverse, fun, and inclusive workforce with competitive wages and benefits. If you are looking for a rewarding career that makes a difference in the community, this is your chance. We seek someone who wants to make that difference on our Health Equity Team as our Medical Transportation Driver.
So, what will you do? The Medical Transportation Driver will provide the transportation of patients and other associated representatives if approved by Crescent, to and from medical, dental, and other health facilities and their private residences in a safe, secure, and professional manner. Additionally, when not transporting patients, you will back up the pharmacy driver to provide coverage for the pharmacy and you will also support the Health Equity department's core functions. No overnight driving is required. Bilingual candidates are highly desired (Spanish or Marshallese) and if you are bilingual, you will provide translation services to the Health Equity team and patient population.
Key aspects of this role:
- You will be providing transport CCHC patients to and from appointments including local facilities and out-of-area facilities such as University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
- You'll need to ensure the transport vehicle is checked before and after driving.
- You may need to assist patients in getting on board as well.
- You will back up the pharmacy driver as well and deliver pharmacy products to patients.
- You will also provide support to the Health Equity team and translate if bilingual.
What qualifications do you need to be considered for this role? You will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, have an excellent driving record and be able to obtain a chauffeur's license or higher upon hire, and be able to pass CPR/lifesaving training. If you have medical transport experience that would be great! If you meet these requirements and also are bilingual in either Spanish or Marshallese, this will set you above other applicants.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week job. Please see the full job description for more detail. Verification of driving records, pre-employment physical, TB test and drug screen required.
