Industrial Controls Technician

Summary:

Responsible for the design, purchase, assembly, testing and operation of new control layouts, new machines, work cells, and other equipment.

 Responsibilities:

• To be well versed in the safety requirements for equipment and machines.
• Utilize the CAD system to complete new mechanical and electrical drawings required for individual projects.
• Install, configure, and test control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and other automation components.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify root causes of problems and implement solutions
• Design and coordinate the construction of the equipment designed.
• To know, enforce, and communicate company policies and procedures. Have the ability to learn, lead, and implement change.
• Keep abreast of new products and technology in the Plant Engineering and Maintenance fields.
• Become proficient in the application of robotic and vision systems to use them in the design of equipment and cells.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology available in the machine design and robotic fields.
• Experience with specific industry-related equipment or systems.
• Become proficient in the use of all styles and types of programmable controllers.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent electronic and electrical knowledge.
