Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a faith based growing University that is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Childcare Center. We seek applicants who have a passion for teaching, a love for children, and want to work with other teachers as a team to ensure high quality care and education.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily communication with parents
  • Provide quality educational experiences
  • Complete and post weekly lesson plans based on Creative Curriculum
  • Model appropriate teaching and behavior strategies for assistant teachers
  • Attend to cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Develop interpersonal relationships with children and their families
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission

Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma, Early Childhood degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with children is required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule is preferred
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Reporting training is preferred: ability to obtain certifications after employment is required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
