Job Overview

Universal Tank & Fabrication is an industry leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and specialized fabrications serving customers throughout North America. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician in Dubuque, IA. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety and OSHA regulations, including Lockout-Tagout.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment

(Welders, Plasma table, plate roller, overhead cranes, blast/paint equipment, forklifts, HVAC, plumbing)

  • Ensures that daily PMs are performed and recorded
  • Strives for continuous improvement of equipment.
  • Efficiently diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with general, ground and facility maintenance
  • Operate material handling equipment, moving machinery and equipment as necessary.
  • Provide technical leadership and assist in training other Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ensures that adequate repair parts are stocked
  • Serves as an example for housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical/ Trade School preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations
  • Strong understanding of RCM, RCA, and TPM Principles
  • Successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
  • Effective communication and time management skills are a must.
  • Experienced in commercial/industrial electrical (e.g., 110v 220v & 480v).
  • Knowledge of schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and blueprint reading experience
  • Strong technical understanding of equipment maintenance and power and hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals, write routine reports and correspondence
  • Candidate must be energetic, have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be a self-starter and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to fill in wherever necessary.
  • Provides own tools adequate to perform job duties.
