Job Overview

Champions Before/After School Program is looking for substitute teachers to round out our 2024-25 school year. This position would be flexible and allow the employee to determine their availability picking up shifts as needed. The Champions program operated out of local elementary schools; all schools are located in Dubuque and within 10 minutes of each other. This is a fun and flexible position with a split shift.

Qualifications Brief:

· A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.

· Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens.

· Being a part of an energetic team.

· Must be able to work Monday-Friday. Typical Hours are 6:30am - 8:30am and 2:30pm-6:00pm (Fridays 6:30am - 9:30am - late start).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively
  • Meet state specific qualifications for the role or willingness to obtain
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
