Overview:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will provide a broad range of services to support a growing organization and its employees. Actively involved in the onboarding process with a focus on benefit programs and enrollment. The HR Generalist oversees the payroll process, including bi-weekly reporting of payroll, taxes, deductions, and garnishments. This position will also focus on providing timely and accurate responses to internal and external general human resources-related inquiries and coordinate human resources sponsored projects and offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
- Prepares and processes bi-weekly reporting of payroll, taxes, deductions, and garnishments.
- Completes all employment verification requests.
- Assists in communication of employee benefit programs and processes enrollment.
- Processes and orders employee recognition gifts and provides general administrative support to Human Resources Team.
- Compiles, update and proper retention of employee records (paper and electronic copies).
- Processes documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, turnover, overtime, training, performance evaluations, etc.).
- Coordinates HR-sponsored projects and employee offerings (meetings, training, surveys etc.)
- Assists employees with requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
- Ensures that employee compliance training and testing is completed and reported. Receives, verifies, obtains payment approval, and requests payments for billing, and acts as vendor interface for Human Resources.
- Coordinates DOT compliance specific to position.
- Assists in the onboarding process with primary focus on collecting and entering employee data, including and not limited to E-Verify.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent combination of degree and experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, or business or a field related to the position preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of education.
- Experience performing basic human resources, payroll, customer service, or general office duties.
- Proficiency on computers including Microsoft Office products and HRIS systems.
- Strong interpersonal /communication skills - able to communicate and establish effective working relationships with all departments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of Company and employee information.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Ability to communicate courteously with all levels of the organization to resolve issues.
