Therapist - $5000 sign on bonus
Full or part-time, exempt
Job Summary: This position is responsible for independently building and maintaining a client
caseload of individuals (adults and children), couples, families, and groups to include some
telehealth services. At least 60 percent of the time is expected to be in direct/billable service. The
therapist also provides educational and consultation services to church and/or community groups,
as needed.

Job Duties/Tasks:
CLINICAL
● Provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy in an outpatient setting
● Provides telehealth services, as appropriate
● Provides evaluation services including clinical assessments and diagnosis consistent with
current DSM
● Develop treatment and discharge plans with the client
● Implement interventions and treatment based on diagnosis and treatment plan
● Trained and proficient in evidence-based treatments (i.e., CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.)
● Provides in-person and phone-based crisis pregnancy counseling services, as needed
● Provides in-person and/or phone-based counseling for Project Rachel program, for
individuals struggling with the after-effects of an abortion
● Maintains license in good standing
● Understands and adheres to best practices for insurance billing and documentation
ADMINISTRATIVE
● Utilizes Electronic Health Record (EHR) for all documentation, treatment planning,
diagnosing, and scheduling/rescheduling of clients
● Maintains all case documentation in the EHR in accordance with applicable policies,
laws, and instructions
● Sets fees for services with clients using the sliding fee scale, and is responsible for
collecting all sliding fee payments, insurance co-payment, co-insurance, and/or
deductibles at the time of service
● Works closely with billing specialist and support staff to ensure client funding is accurate
and insurance claims are submitted cleanly
● Ensure active client’s insurance information is updated annually and updates are provided
to the billing specialist, with the assistance of support staff
● Strong organizational skills
● Other duties, as assigned
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
● Provides education, presentations, and consultation to parishes, schools, and other
community groups, as needed/requested
● Participates and assists, where appropriate, in local human service planning groups,
health fairs, and other appropriate community events
● Other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
● Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Social
Work, from an accredited university or college
● Licensed by the State of Iowa as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW),
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
(LMFT). Will consider temporarily licensed candidates.
● Minimum of three years post-graduate direct service
● Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to other offices or settings as needs
dictate; business-related travel will be reimbursed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● Comprehensive knowledge of ethical considerations, including HIPAA, involved in
clinical/social work
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clients, family
members, the public, church officials, and representatives of other agencies
● Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, principles, practices and clinical/social work
techniques, group work, client-centered advocacy, community organization, research, and
other clinical skills as they apply to target population
● Strong knowledge of available community resources
● Excellent technology skills and comfort utilizing technology
● Develops personal professional growth plan and demonstrates professional ethics and
leadership
● Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, and via the use of
technology) with clarity and organization while ensuring appropriate communication
occurs with the Executive Director, Clinical Director, the Leadership Team, parishes,
medical/mental health community, colleges, and other professional groups
● Demonstrates effective decision-making in a rapid-paced environment with attention to
detail utilizing logical and appropriate clinical judgment
● Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual candidates preferred
