McGraw Hill is seeking a Director of Social and Content Marketing Strategy to lead our corporate content marketing and social media strategies. 

Your impact on the team:  

As the Director of Social and Content Marketing Strategy, you will report to the Chief Communications Officer and spearhead the development and execution of corporate content marketing and social media strategies, policies and governance at McGraw Hill. Working collaboratively with the company’s digital marketing center of excellence, content marketing and social media leads across multiple business units, you will develop a unified structure and  
approach to using various content marketing and social media strategies to help the company achieve its marketing and engagement goals.

This role can work from one of our MH office locations or remotely from a home office and travels up to 25 percent of the year for in person meetings and events. This opportunity is open to candidates that permanently reside within the United States.  

What you will be doing: 

  • Drive the creative vision, content marketing strategy and editorial calendar for the company’s corporate communications through insights, data, and collaboration with business leaders, marketers and communicators across the company.
  • Develop and execute editorial and social media governance and guidelines for the company to ensure that all content marketing and social media communications adhere to company best practices, brand standards and compliance.
  • Forge strong partnerships with business unit content and social marketers to ensure that each team has the guidance, tools and resources needed to successfully maintain effective content and social programs.
  • Serve as a liaison with the company’s global procurement team to ensure that the company is utilizing third-party support for content marketing and social efforts efficiently across the enterprise.
  • Develop a corporate content narrative and architecture based on business goals that can serve as a resource to unify thought leadership themes across the organization.
  • Develop integrated campaign strategies in partnership with corporate communications, paid media and web teams to maximize results across owned, earned, shared and paid media, influencing business segments and regions to enable a global impact.
  • Analyze metrics to derive customer insights and inform future strategies while helping inform internal stakeholders of key learnings.
  • Serve as liaison between corporate communications and business unit marketing teams and web/digital marketing center of excellence to ensure company-wide content marketing and social media adherence to brand positioning, messaging, and a cohesive visual identity that reinforces brand recognition.
  • Identify opportunities to share best practices, resources and lessons learned among social and content marketing stakeholders across the organization.
  • Manage key social publishing, listening and measurement platforms used across the organization.
  • Collaborate with web center of excellence to ensure teams adhere to SEO and web publishing best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team – including the Manager, Corporate Communications, freelance writers and agency partners – by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to achieve organizational goals.

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • 10+ years of experience in branded content and social media at a digital publisher, agency, or brand.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-platform branded content campaigns from ideation through execution, driven by high-impact content and brand storytelling across multiple platforms that drive desired business outcomes. 
  • Must be able to translate complex cross-business priorities into compelling corporate messaging that guides the company and business segments to drive key thought leadership and brand themes.
  • Proven ability to develop a unified strategy and governance structure that balances company goals with brand standards and compliance, ensuring content is strategic, engaging, and on-brand.
  • Experience auditing content and social media channels across a complex global enterprise with multiple lines of business.
  • Proven experience managing agency partnerships, including developing creative briefs and leading reviews with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop collaborative relationships across multiple lines of business and marketing stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to cross-functional team engagement.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller with an in-depth understanding of branded content trends.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) to manage visual assets a plus.

The pay range for this position is between $108,000-$135,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
