Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position
This position is eligible for a partial telework work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Software Delivery Supervisor for John Deere Construction & Forestry located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will be leading and inspiring an embedded software development team that delivers Precision Construction advanced display software applications to our customers and dealers. Your team’s focus will be in the areas of Productivity and Grade Control application development.
In addition, you will:
- Supervise and develop the talent of the individual team members
- Work with your software scrum teams and supporting organizations (e.g., Vehicle Platforms, Precision Construction, Software PV&V, etc.) to ensure on-time, high quality software is developed and tested following the JD standards and processes.
- Align with other supervisors, system engineers, and product group stakeholders to plan workload and deliverables.
- Lead/implement our division’s continuous improvement initiatives (MIL/SIL, MBSD, Agile processes, Quality, etc.)
- Provide strategic vision, direction, and tactical support for global team members

What Skills You Need
- 5 or more years of demonstrated expertise of software development (process and embedded languages) or system engineering
- 5 or more years of software delivery experience with demonstrated feature delivery to production
- Experience in leading teams using Agile software development processes
- Demonstrated effectiveness at technical and people leadership
- Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in roles that required excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work and lead in a diverse distributed team environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills
What Makes You Stand Out
- Software project management experience with medium to large multi-team, & multi-site programs
- Experience working with embedded display software on off highway equipment
- Development experience with C/C++, Qt, and/or Linux
- Systems engineering experience such as authoring requirements or creation of systems engineering artifacts
- Experience with technology solutions utilized in the construction industry, such as grade control, Payload Weighing, Smart Attach, etc.
- Experience with real time, embedded, multi-threaded systems
- Experience with CAN communications protocol and the J1939 standards
- Experience within an automotive, agricultural, or industrial machine setting
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with equivalent experience
