Job Overview

SUMMARY

Provide marketing direction for Natural Gas Products. Direct field sales personnel and keep abreast of industry trends and make recommendations as to product additions and deletions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

SALES & MARKETING MANAGEMENT - DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become a dedicated member of the A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. sales team.
  •  Constantly evaluate representation in all markets and recommend replacement as necessary.
  •  Develop programs to maintain overall profitability and sales growth of product line.
  •  Involve and inform the management group of activities in natural gas line.
  •  Effectively motivate field sales personnel to achieve yearly sales quota.
  •  Hold quarterly meetings with each of the territory mangers or sales groups to review their sales plan.
  •  Listen to, evaluate, and react to the needs of the customer.
  •  Works with product management and the innovation team to develop new products for the natural gas market.
  •  Effectively communicate with all managers, directors, or executives as needed to complete necessary duties.
  •  Establish market area pricing by region and maintain it as needed. 
  •  Travel with field sales personnel to develop sales distribution networks.
  •  Submit expense reports monthly.
  •  Log all contacts, call reports and opportunities into CRM on a as need basis.
  •  Conduct product training for customer service representatives, factory sales personnel, and natural gas sales representatives.
  •  Assist sales staff with product application and usage.
  •  Gather and maintain information of competitive product offerings and programs.
  •  Assist in the creation and of updating product literature for the customer.
  •  Attend and participate in industry trade shows and exhibitions. 
  •  Continually develop working knowledge of internal computer information systems relating to customer sales and product.
  •  Lead the natural gas annual sale meeting.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Forecast new and existing product usage based on market research.
  •  Continually evaluate the product line and develop new products.
  •  Travel internationally to secure new products for the plumbing product line offering. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university plus two to four years Marketing/Sales management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
