Job Overview
The Maintenance Operations Manager (MOM) is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the terminal’s shop, detail, and facility maintenance personnel. This position will coordinate activities between the personnel of the three reporting departments as well as 3rd party service providers in the defined region. The goal of the MOM is to provide outstanding customer service to its stakeholders by directing the use of company resources to facilitate safe operation, uptime, and efficient asset utilization.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Facilitate workflow through the maintenance system (TMT) for all aspects of terminal management, including but not limited to:
-
Opening and closing repair orders
-
Maintaining inventories
-
Managing team member productivity
-
Assigning tasks to team members
-

Coordinate workflow between reporting departments, Road Repair, and 3rd party service providers to ensure efficient use of assets and resources
-
Communicate the status of repairs with operations, ensuring a high level of customer service to
-
stakeholders
-
Supervise team members’ daily performance and ensure compliance with company policies

Order parts, supplies, and equipment for all shop, facility, and rolling stock needs as they
-
arise
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and complaint terminal facility

Proactively identify and resolve maintenance and safety concerns before they affect operations

Assist with orientation and truck seating activities

Manage truck assignments

Conduct truck inspections with new company drivers or lease contractors
-
Test drive tractors to ensure quality standards are met and repairs are completed

Explain tractor features to drivers and lease contractors to maximize the ROI and capture value in terms of increased efficiency and safety and decrease turnover

Train team members of reporting departments to operate tractor/trailers around the terminal property as required for their own skills development

Other duties as assigned
- CDL (Class A or B) license is a plus or willingness to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after hours if needed.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft word, excel, etc.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and have a positive, “can-do” attitude
- Embraces teamwork and appreciates problem-solving in group environments
