Job Overview
Gronen is a full-service community centered, development, construction, brokerage and property management company who is experiencing growth across all of its divisions. Gronen is seeking individuals to join our construction team. Gronen is a leader in historic rehabilitation and new construction.
SUMMARY The right individual will be highly self-motivated and follow directions well. Additionally, does work safely and within OSHA/company guidelines and cleaning and preparing construction sites for the construction of structures and buildings. Unloads and loads materials, tends machines, and assists carpenters and other construction site workers. All experience levels welcome.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Works safely and is familiar with OSHA requirements.
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment if certified.
- Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Must willing to work under various weather conditions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have knowledge of related tools, masonry techniques, equipment, and materials. Skill in construction, repair, and maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
- Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
- Motivated to learn and be trained.
- Must be reliable and on time for work.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively share information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the company.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License, ability to pass a background check and drug test.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
WAGES $18-$20 per hour. An additional $1 per hour raise after three months based on reliability, positive attendance, and attitude.
