Thompson Truck & Trailer is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to join our team on second shift. This position is a working foreman, great for a high-level technician looking to gain management experience. Thompson offers a sign on bonus and flexible work schedule – 4x10s, 5x8s, you choose! As the liaison between our service department and our customers, strong communication skills and customer service experience are crucial. You'll be counted on to manage customers’ expectations with realistic timelines and deliverables; a positive customer experience is our number one priority.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the customer-facing communications between the service department and customers to provide a superior customer experience and efficient operational results.
- Greet walk-in customers and handle phone call inquiries to determine their service needs and provide an initial determination of how we can assist and estimated timeline.
- Prepare estimates for customers by outlining work to be performed and receive customer approval.
- Continuously communicate with customers on service progress including completion time, unforeseen repairs, recommended repairs and changes to estimates to keep them informed and educated.
- Coordinate warranty opportunities according to dealership standards, facilitating communication between the technicians and customers.
- Invoice completed work to include parts, service hours, repair explanation, and warranty adjustments and provide to customer to collect payment.
- Exhibit discretion in solving customer dissatisfaction or escalating to management as needed.
- Manage second shift technicians, including maintaining a workflow of your own and working on trucks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Experience in the automotive or heavy-duty truck industry is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or GED
