Your Responsibilities

As the Administrator for Hillcrest Family Services Residential Care Facility in Dubuque, IA, you will act in conjunction with the Assistant Administrator to direct and supervise staff in the implementation of an effective and therapeutic program for adults with chronic mental illnesses. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and facilitation of staff training and development for the provision of client services
  • Directing administrative tasks associated with the operation of the facility
  • Collaborating, as appropriate, with other programs within Hillcrest to maintain a friendly and positive working relationship
  • Working with the assistant administrator and social workers to ensure all information collected on new referrals lets the treatment team make an informed decision regarding possible new admissions
  • Maintaining communication with the treatment team to ensure all admission and discharge paperwork is completed as required by licensure, accreditation, and facility processes
  • Assisting in the day-to-day care of clients and providing coverage for the units as needed during busy times, when necessary

 What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in human services, preferably working with chronically mental ill adults in an ICF/RCF environment
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with referral workers and a wide variety of professionals
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Well organized and flexible with excellent time management skills
  • Knowledgeable of chronic mental illness and recognized treatment and rehabilitation models
  • Must possess an understanding of and follow basic ethics of the human service field
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position

About the Program

The Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a residential facility for adults who have a mental health diagnosis, that provides supervision in a safe, secure, and protected environment. The RCF offers the following services:

  • 24-hour staffing and supervision
  • Mental health support
  • Medication management
  • Social and community integration
  • Physical and emotional health development
  • Daily living skills education
