Job Overview

MercyOne is seeking applicants to fill AmeriCorps member Community Health Worker (CHW) positions for sites in Clinton, Des Moines, Sioux City, and Waterloo. An AmeriCorps CHW is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has a remarkable understanding of the community served. AmeriCorps CHWs facilitate screening for social influencers of health (SIoH) and partner with patients to navigate the health and social service system. 

 

Program Benefits: Living allowance, education award upon successful completion of service, childcare assistance if eligible, healthcare coverage if applicable, student loan forbearance for eligible loans, Member Performance Evaluation requirements during the term if applicable.

Travel: In state travel during scheduled hours approximately once per month for training and education. Initial training may require one to two overnights in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED 18 years or older at the start of service
