Camp Albrecht Acres was founded in 1975 as a unique environment for people with special needs to enjoy new opportunities and challenges in a safe environment adapted specifically for their needs. From our humble beginnings, camping in tents, Albrecht Acres has blossomed into a 40-acre residential camp serving over 600 campers each summer.
Campers enjoy a swim in the pool on summer afternoons, create masterpieces in our arts and crafts session, learn about nature in our newly renovated Beidler Nature Center and through fishing in the pond, and enjoy social time during our dances each week!
Camp Albrecht Acres is generously funded by our community, who understand the need for recreational services for our population of people with special needs. We thank you for your support, service, and financial contributions for the campers at Albrecht Acres.
Tschiggfrie Excavating Co. was founded by Ed and Joan Tschiggfrie in the fall of 1963. The company started out grading farm fields and digging basements and has since grown to cover diverse work categories consisting of construction management, concrete paving and structures, underground utilities, earthwork, trucking, and demolition. This has allowed Tschiggfrie Excavating Co. to help transform Dubuque and surrounding communities for decades. Experience is essential in construction, and Tschiggfrie has many loyal employees with decades of experience.
For over 60 years, the company has taken on many high-profile projects in the Tri-State Area. The company has assisted in many local emergencies like the flooding, train derailments, water and sanitary sewer main breaks, sinkholes, and large slide repairs. In addition, the company has helped expand the City of Dubuque with Tschiggfrie-initiated subdivisions like Shady Oaks, Clarke Crest, Birch Acres, Marna Ridge, Emerald Acres, and Alpine Park Community.
Key West Early Childhood Center provides high quality care and education for infants through preschool as well as Summer Camp for school aged children.

Carl and Karen Kelchen founded Custom Precast Company in 1967 with only a single truck and three employees. Since those days of modestly producing high-quality concrete steps and septic systems, Custom Precast has expanded its product line and workforce as a way to better serve the people who matter most — the customers.
With 50-75 full and part-time workers across their 100,000 square foot production area in Cascade, Iowa, custom precast now houses 16 bridges cranes, two computerized batch plants and mixers capable of producing more than 500 cubic yards of concrete daily.
A fleet of truck-mounted cranes, semi-tractors and flatbed trailers deliver and install Custom Precast products around the Midwest.
Today, the company is co-owned and operated by Carl and Karen’ son and daughter-in-law, Bryon and Carolyn Kelchen. Their son, Andy Kelchen, joined the company in 2011.
