Michelin has an opening for a 3rd Shift Quality Technician.  Working hours will be 11:00pm to 7:30am.  This is a permanent, full-time position.  This position does come with a 3rd shift differential of $2.50/hr and Technician premium of $0.75/hr.

   

General Description: 

Assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practices, validating processes and providing documentation.   

Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Qualified candidate will be required to perform inspections in the paint line areas. 
  • Qualified candidate will be required to perform inspections in all the assembly departments (Main line, Sub Cell, Toro Cell, Flex Cell); 
  • Daily production checks DFT, gloss, and adhesion. 
  • Test panels schedule & collection. 
  • Back up for Paint Tech - Viscosity daily checks. 
  • Back up for Paint Tech - Water daily titrations. 
  • Assist monthly water report. 
  • Print, collect, and scan production following sheets. 
  • Back up quality inspector for GP-12.  
  • 5S for all areas. 
  • Daily interacting with manufacturing personnel as needed. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time to best support production. 
  • Support of the safety policy in day-to-day activities. 
  • Overtime will be required from time to time including weekends. 
  • Support the EMS, QMS & H&S systems. 
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management. 
  • Weekly calibration on tooling. 
  • Perform receiving inspection.

  • The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers and stoop and stand for long periods of time.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds & work in a hot environment. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. 

  

Education & Experience: 

  • Associates degree is preferred but not required. 
  • 3+ years of Quality experience working within a manufacturing setting. 
  • The ability to read machine prints and interpret standards as they apply. 
  • Knowledge of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, etc. 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principals. 
  • Working knowledge of the MS operating system and applications such as Excel, telephone and email. 
  • Knowledge of appropriate ISO policies and procedures.
