Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Strength and Conditioning for the 2026-2027 term, with a potential renewal for 2027-2028.
The University of Dubuque is a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the American Rivers Conference.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze performance and instruct athletes in strength and conditioning techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletic competitions
- Assist the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, and equipment
- Assist program with all phases of competitive NCAA and ARC compliant recruiting
- Assist with monitoring academic progress of all student-athletes on the team, in connection with the coaching staff, compliance coordinator and athletic director
- Execute practice and game planning/evaluation, including video coordination and breakdown
- Manage equipment usage
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
- Working knowledge of NCAA Division III and Conference rules and compliance
- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility with schedule (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Prior coaching experience and/or prior experience as an athlete
- Effective communication skills; both orally and written
- Proficiency in graphic design, social media, video, and all relevant software
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
