Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant in the Nursing Department for the 2025-2026 term, with a potential renewal for 2026-2027.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, with Department Head, on social media posts
- Develop a departmental newsletter each semester, including photos, and brief news items
- Plan special events with the Department Administrative Assistant
- Participate in recruitment and marketing initiatives as directed and in coordination with University Relations
- Assist with literature reviews or with the examination of supporting documents and materials
- Assist with inputting data, managing resources, creating products, and drafting reports
- Assist Administrative Assistant and nursing faculty as requested with day-to-day tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University and Nursing Department Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with graphic design is a plus
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. Additionally, domestic GA's have the option to participate in work-study. Although it may be within a different department from which the GA serves.
