Your Responsibilities
As a Nurse Program Manager, you are responsible for adhering to all licensing, regulatory and agency guidelines and agency values.
Follows all joint commission, state, and Hillcrest Family Services standards. The Program Manager's purpose is to provide oversight of A New Day Clinic and all staff/programs within it. Assisting with completing vitals, medical history, medication reconciliation, client screenings, and NOMs (National Outcome Measurement), as needed; assisting with crisis clients, HIV/STD testing, and answering of A New Day Nurse Triage Line. Direct and supervise staff in the implementation of short-term, intensive, recovery-oriented services designed to stabilize an individual who is experiencing a crisis situation, for the 23 Hour Crisis Observation Unit. Will attend the Pharmacy Committee and Infection & Exposure Committee meetings. In addition, you will:
- Obtain HIV/STD samples from clients upon request
- Assists in orientation of new staff
- Contributes to a welcoming environment regardless of gender, ethic background, age, religion, sexual orientation, physical
ability, or other unique characteristics. Expresses culturally respective behavior and language, shows understanding that
age, life cycle factors, and beliefs are taken into consideration when interacting with individuals and families - Obtains vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, client screenings and NOMs; Room turnover; Point of Care
testing as necessary - Assists with marketing and recruitment of new staff
- Provides A New Day Clinic oversight
- Networks with Access Centers, referral sources, and other community partners to provide seamless care coordination
- Assists getting clients to safe zones in case of emergencies
- Knowledge of client rights, rights restrictions, and limitations
- Provides data and utilization management
What You Need
- Valid Iowa nursing license required (RN)
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a bachelor’s degree (preferably)
- 5+ year of Nursing Experience
- 1+ year of Mental Health Experience

About the Program(s)
23-Hour Crisis Observation and Holding Services are designed for individuals who need short-term crisis intervention in a safe environment less restrictive than hospitalization. This level of service is appropriate for individuals who require protection or when an individual’s ability to cope in the community is severely compromised and it is expected the crisis can be resolved in 23 hours. 23-hour crisis observation and holding services include, but are not limited to, treatment, medication administration, meeting with extended family or significant others, and referral to appropriate services
A New Day Behavioral Health Walk In Clinic believe that access to services should be present prior to a crisis, but are also trained to support our community members in a crisis response. We hope that our welcoming space will help to assist with crisis of mental health and substance abuse. As an alternative placement for voluntary crisis care, A New Day will help with diversion from emergency departments, inappropriate placement in and inpatient hospital units, and jail.
