How can you make an impact?

As an Academic Designer, Math Assessment, Grades 6-12 and part of our PreK-12 business, you will be part of a team that creates high quality assessments for McGraw Hill’s innovative math product solutions, and innovative print and digital components that are used by millions of educators and students every day. You will be at the forefront of shaping the learning experience by creating assessments that empower both students and teachers in the learning process. These roles are remote, and candidates can reside anywhere within the United States.

 

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 09/30/2028.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, iterating as needed based on project scope and feedback.
  • Design formative and summative assessments in both print and digital formats aligned with state, national, and district standards.
  • Develop and refine assessment blueprints to ensure balanced content coverage and alignment with state frameworks and assessments.
  • Analyze assessment data in collaboration with data science teams to evaluate item performance and student outcomes.
  • Improve assessment quality through data-driven insights and adherence to best practices in educational measurement.
  • Review and edit assessment items to ensure accuracy, validity, and reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with academic design teams, developers, and product owners in an Agile environment.
  • Create teacher support materials that facilitate instructional use of assessments and align with learning objectives.

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 3 years of K–12 math teaching experience, with a Bachelor's or Master’s in Mathematics, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
  • Experience preferred in assessment development, curriculum design, or educational publishing, with expertise in K–12 math standards and assessment best practices.
  • Skilled in creating and refining print and digital assessments using student performance data.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Smartsheet, with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Exceptional writing, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and work independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Deep commitment to equity in education and the belief that all students are capable math learners.

The pay range for this position is between $54,600-$64,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
