Accounting Specialist

Position is located in Dubuque, IA

Grand River Medical Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for reviewing, preparing and processing account payable data to ensure accurate reporting, batching and posting payments daily, managing vendors, and preparing annual 1099s.

The ideal candidate will provide a high-quality customer experience while maintaining a friendly and positive environment. They will also display self-motivation while possessing the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week; with no evening or weekend requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare invoices and refunds for payments in the Accounts Payable (AP) system.
  • Perform monthly and yearly closing function in the AP system.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with monthly financial reporting items.
  • Ensure all electronic purchases are properly approved and reconciled.
  • Prepare cash and checks received for personal payments to be included in the daily bank deposit.
  • Assist with items and preparation for the organization's annual financial review.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two or four-year accounting or finance degree - preferred.
  • Five years of accounts payable and general ledger/financial reporting experience; or combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software.

We provide a wide range of healthcare services from primary care to subspecialty care for adults and children. We currently employ over 300 team members who help support the practices and clinical operations of over 65 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistant clinics, our urgent care network, and four dialysis units located in Iowa (Manchester and Dubuque) and Wisconsin (Platteville and Richland Center).
