Overview
We are looking for a full-time Activities Coordinator to work in our Geriatric Behavioral Health department. Work hours will be days, Monday - Frdiday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, for 80 hours per pay period.
The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating the Geropsychiatric unit's therapeutic patient activities and assisting patients with daily living activities.

Responsibilities
Program Coordination/Patient Care
- Plans and implements the unit’s Activity Therapy Program, including planning of daily events, special events and providing in-services for other staff participating in the activity therapy program.
- Conducts activity therapy group sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of group principles and good group techniques.
- Completes activity therapy assessments in prescribed time frame.
- Participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Effectively participates in the referral development process as a member of the Referral Development Committee,
- Provides feedback to supervisor on an ongoing basis regarding concerns, improvements, changes, etc.
- Oversees Volunteers that come in to help with activities.
- Maintains activity therapy supplies and equipment in an orderly and safe manner.
- Brings to Program Director’s attention, any significant issues related to program functioning.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy
|

Experience:
|
|
At least 1 year of prior experience in recreational or activity therapy |
License(s)/Certification(s):
|
· RRT (Registered Recreational Therapist) or CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification · Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
