Anticoagulation Registered Nurse
Position is for the Multi-Specialty Clinic location
Grand River Medical Group is seeking a driven Registered Nurse to work within our Anticoagulation Clinic. You will be expected to work independently in a fast-paced environment while providing patient-centered, high-quality healthcare. This performing tests, scheduling appointments and overall clinic nurse duties.
The ideal candidate would possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and professionalism. You will be supportive, helpful, and courteous to all team members to provide a high-quality patient experience.
This is a part-time position, typically 2 days per week (16-19 hours per week), with no evening or weekend requirements. All nursing positions have the ability to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired. Grand River Medical Group's clinics are typically open from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform waived laboratory tests, schedule appointments, and document according to established guidelines provided in the Coumadin (Warfarin) therapy guidelines.
- Adjust medication dosage based on INR lab results
- Assist anti-coagulated patients both in office and via telephone management to assist maintaining a safe and therapeutic dosing regimen of Warfarin.
- Work with multi-disciplinaries including Home Health, Long-Term Care, and Skilled Care facilities.
- Manage office responsibilities which include documentation, records, and patient outreach.
- Accurately administer medications orally, IM, sub-q and IV.
- Coordinate the transfer of patients to hospitals.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses
- Minimum two years of professional nursing experience required; clinic experience preferred
- Must be a licensed RN or LPN with an active license to practice in the state of Iowa and Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
